On November 14, 1960, at the age of six, Ruby Bridges became the very first African American child to attend the all-white public school, in New Orleans, Louisiana!
To honor her courage, and to promote equity, tolerance and kindness, we will celebrate
Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day
on Tuesday November 14th
On that day we encourage all Lyndale students to wear purple t-shirts, polo shirts , or sweatshirts, and walk to school in honor of Ruby Bridges.
This is the last chance to take Pictures for the fall!
Please make sure you have your student take a picture If your student is new to the school, was absent on picture day, or didn't like the picture from last time.

Dear ARUSD Families,
We cordially invite you to attend our 10th Annual Parent University at San Antonio Elementary School on Saturday, October 21st. Registration will occur from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.; please be on time. Parents can attend different workshops on various topics, including Bullying/ Cyberbullying, Developmental Milestones, Positive Parenting, How to Improve Communication with Your Child, Early Learning, Kimochis, Nutrition, Financial Literacy, and many more. Parents will be able to attend two workshops of their choice. Childcare for 3-5yr old (children must be potty trained) and Day Camp for 6-14yr olds will be provided. Students attending the daycare/day camp will receive a free pumpkin. Parents must attend the workshops for their child(ren) to attend childcare and/or day camp.
Light breakfast and lunch will be provided for all. There will be a resource fair during the lunch period with fun activities for kids and DJ entertainment, and to end our day, we will be having a bike giveaway!

Survey Invitation for Community Schools ( Lyndale)
Hello Lyndale Parents and Families,
Lyndale School is launching a Community School planning process and we want to hear from you! Please take the brief survey at the link below. The survey is open now and will close at the end of the day on Monday, October 9.

Back to District Night
Dear Families,
We cordially invite you to our annual Back to District Night at San Antonio Elementary School located at 1721 E. San Antonio St. San Jose, CA 95116 on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 5pm to 7:30pm.
We are extremely excited to share information about our plans for early and expanded learning, multicultural & multilingual education, and whole child & whole family development which together is known as our Alum Rock Union School District's Strategic Plan!
Additionally, we have many of our community partners who will be present to offer information on how to access their educational resources and other services for students and families.
We are also thrilled to announce that our amazing students from our District Mariachi, District Jazz Band, and Vietnamese Dance Group will be performing throughout the evening!

Summer Program Classes Open to All Students!
Dear Parents, Summer School registration is now open to ALL students at Alum Rock.
We have some really great opportunities for our students this summer. Many of the enrichment programs are new, very popular and costly programs that we are offering at no cost to students.
I would really like all Lyndale students doing something enriching this summer!
- You can access the whole menu of programs open for your child at https://www.inplay.org/invites/alum-rock-summer-2023 and to register them.
- Once you input information for the student you will see all grade-eligible programs for that specific child.
- Keep in mind, it must authenticate the user by asking for the parent's mobile number and then texting back a PIN that you must enter.

Dear Lyndale Parents, We are very excited to bring you this great opportunity !
Early College Outreach Parent Program will provide ESL Classes twice a week, 90 minutes per session for 6 weeks to practice English language communication skills, including speaking, reading, writing and Basic Computer Skills including email communication. These classes are designed for parents so they can support the academic and personal success of their children. Parents will improve their English skills while learning how to support their child's education.
If you have already signed up we will be reaching out to you for confirmation. If you are interested to register for classes, please call Ms.Margarita, our community liaison, @ 408-928-7884.
It is desirable you attend all classes. If you miss two consecutive ones, you will be dropped from class and someone else will be assigned to your spot.
